So, your hunting wedding venue’s?
Initially this might seam like an easy and fun process. Long drives and exciting trips with your “soon-to-be” don’t sound challenging at all, it actually sounds like magnificent fun!
Plot twist!!!
3 months after you booked your venue you buy an amazing wedding planner and realize there are a list of elements you wish you could view at the venue – now a 9AM meeting with your décor supplier means getting up at 6AM on a Sunday morning and spending 2+ hours on the road with your significant other who is more agreeable after 8AM in the morning, you LOVE the table setup and nothing has to change – 20 minute meeting – and another 2+ hours’ drive back home.
Not your average person’s idea of fun.
These meetings can possibly be compiled into one meaningful meeting at the venue which will need a lot of planning and schedule comparing and taking your venues limitations into consideration. Which brings us to some main elements that you might want to consider when choosing a venue with specific focus on location and venue limitations:
- Proximity to other Suppliers
If you lose your heart on a venue that might be quite a drive – this doesn’t have to break your heart! Take preferred suppliers into consideration, matching diaries and appointments might be easier if you will be making use of suppliers who are located close to the venue as you might be able to arrange a venue and supplier visit on the same day – to make it worth the drive.
- Reasons to visit the venue & venue coordinator availability
Some elements of your wedding can be discussed with your coordinator on a video call or via mail. Ensure that you have an open line to your venue coordinator as this will ensure minor (but important) details like table sizes don’t send you into a frenzy. Your coordinator should be available to provide minor details like these and even send you some photos of things you might want to just “see again”.
- Number of visits allowed
Some venues (most venues) limit couples to a specific number of visits or meetings. Be sure you check in with your venue about this before booking as this might be a determining factor – if you know you will be wanting to pop in on a few different occasions this might frustrate you.
- Road to the venue
Be sure that these are travel and guest safe as you might have to travel to the venue a few times in preparation of the wedding and your guests will have to use different routes on the day of your wedding, also consider that some of your guests will have to travel these roads at night – after formalities.
We believe your wedding venue shouldn’t just be a nice and accessible location but it definitely helps! So pop our location in your Google maps and plan your easily accessible viewing – it would however also be worth the road trip!
