December carries a special kind of magic. Fairy lights, warm gatherings, long conversations, and celebrations that stretch late into the evening. But it can also be a month that fills your calendar faster than your heart can keep up. If you are planning a wedding during this season, it is easy to feel the pressure building quietly between everything else.
Breathe. You do not need to carry it all.
The first step is to protect your own space. Choose days where you will not mention the wedding at all. No lists. No decisions. No thoughts about budgets or timelines. Just soft evenings, good food, and the comfort of being with people who love you.
Create gentle boundaries. Not everything has to be decided before the new year. Suppliers are also slowing down, families are busy, and it is perfectly acceptable to let planning take a softer rhythm for a few weeks.
Share the load with intention. Ask your partner to help with certain tasks or let your planner take on the details that feel overwhelming. You are not meant to do this alone, especially during a season that holds so much else.
Lastly, make time for romance. December has a way of slowing the world down. Go for a walk under the lights. Wrap presents together. Drink something warm and talk about your favourite part of the year. Remember why this wedding is happening in the first place. It starts and ends with love.
Your wedding is meant to bring joy, not exhaustion. Let this season be gentle. Let it be full of moments that refill your heart rather than drain it.
With love,
