“Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, through he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” – John 11:25-26
We are all aware of the most beautiful love sacrifice in history, where Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He did the unthinkable. He did what he promised. He saved us. After three days he stood up from his grave giving all of us eternal life.
Having a wedding on Easter can remind oneself of that beautiful love sacrifice because marriage is exactly that. Sacrifice upon sacrifice, whether it is deciding on the theme of the house, or what time to eat super and we can agree that the list can go on and on. Not only is marriage sacrifice it is also a form of resurrection. There are times when we need to stand up and show up, even if we do not feel like it. Sometimes beyond sacrifice we need to encourage our spouses to do the same.
Ruan & Chalaine got married on the 18th of April 2025, the colour theme was purple and green. To them it was their favourite colours but it more than that. The colour purple is associated with royalty and a calling for priesthood. The colour green symbolise life, restoration and new beginnings. This is exactly what easter is about. Reminding us of our new beginning, reminding us about what Jesus did for our life and how He wants us to live it. The restoration in tough times whilst creating disciples.
This was not fate nor luck, this was Jesus.
