One of the main considerations when choosing a venue should be the availability of accommodation for your guests, on the premises or in close proximity. Even though it is not custom practice for the couple to book or pay the accommodation of any of the guests, it does bring a lot of peace of mind knowing that accommodation is available.
Here are some tips:
- Ask your venue about availability of accommodation.
Ask about on-site availability and the capacity, also ask if they are able to provide a PDF Map of recommended accommodation close to the venue – you can share this with guests via WhatsApp or link it to your wedding website for easy access.
- Ensure that the venue (at least) has enough accommodation for yourself and your bridal party.
Nothing will be as horrible as your favorite guests leaving early because they still need to travel some distance home or to alternative accommodation.
- Consider roads to alternative accommodation
If your venue provides a Map with other accommodation options – be sure to ask them about the roads to these venues as to ensure guests will still be able to travel safely after dark.
Knowing guests do not have to travel home at night ensures you are also able to enjoy your evening to the fullest!
While it shouldn’t be the end all be all, choosing a venue with accommodation brings such ease! At Galagos Country Estate our couples enjoy the comfort of 21 available rooms on site and a provided map of close by accommodation (within 6 kilometers of the venue). Be sure to view our accommodation and ask for our Accommodation Map.
