A Wildflower in the Heart of the East Rand

Wildflowers show us that life doesn’t have to grow according to plan to still be quite beautiful.

When planning this styled wedding shoot, I had a lot of flowers in mind, but also wanted to do something budget friendly. All brides dream of having a glamorous wedding, but sometimes our budgets are quite small. I wanted to do something different and I wanted to include the community. 

I approached a new up and coming venue in the heart of the East Rand close to OR Tambo. With their lavish gardens and simplistic thatch roofs with wooden window frames they had a dreamy fairytale aesthetic almost like a cottage in the woods. Perfect for any occasion. We also approached a local photographer and a local wedding dress supplier. Together we created a beautiful dream scenario of what weddings could be like in Johannesburg. Often times brides think they have to travel far and wide to get what they need, but they don’t. 

With a beautiful light rose pink and white wedding dress we paired material flower earrings in shades of pink and peach with cream white pearls, paired with a matching floral bridal belt and floral hair pieces. We repeated the pearl pattern in the bride’s hair. The bride adorned a snowflake ring with sparkles complimenting her dress. 

The colours all came together wonderfully and popped against the white background and natural wood tones the venue had to offer. With the elegant dress and cottage theme vibes everything came together in ways we never thought.  All the elements that made a perfect scenario can be used for multiple wedding themes in summer, autumn, spring or winter all at suitable budgets for all.
