Firstly, it must be said that I was absolutely overwhelmed at the thought of finding my wedding dress. I hadn’t really spent much time dreaming of my wedding day, and I certainly didn’t know what dress was going to suit my style, so the thought of committing to an expensive piece of ‘forever’ was daunting. Turns out, getting over my fear was the only hard part… as soon as I stepped into Bride&co Parkview for my wedding dress fitting, everything felt so right! The anticipation, the excitement, the nerves—all swirling together as I embarked on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
If you’re gearing up for your own fitting at Bride&co, here’s a glimpse into what to expect and how to make the most of this unforgettable journey.
- Embrace the Warm Welcome and Personal Connection:
From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. My consultant didn’t just see me as another customer; she saw me as a bride with a unique vision for her special day. We started chatting and she asked about my love story, my dreams for the wedding, and the vibe I wanted to create. It felt like talking to a friend who genuinely cared about making my dreams come true.
- Explore with an Open Mind and Heart:
As we ventured into the beautiful bridal floor, I was amazed by the stunning array of dresses awaiting me. She explained the different brands of Viola Chan, Oleg Cassini, and the Bride&co range, and encouraged me to try on a variety of styles, even ones I hadn’t considered before. And you know what? Some of my favorite dresses were ones I never would have picked out on my own! It taught me the importance of keeping an open mind and trusting the expertise of those who know bridal fashion inside and out.
- Don’t forget to Pack your Accessories
I had packed a small bridal bag for my fitting, which had a pair of heels that I hoped were similar in height to my future wedding shoes, as well as a couple of different bras, including a strapless. This meant that I could see what each of the picks looked like, while comfy and not showing straps. I let my consultant stay with me while I changed- some of those dresses were complicated and I was thankful for the help, but if you’re not comfy having her in the dressing room with you, just let her know.
- Go with your Heart
Your wedding dress ends up being a deeply reflective and personal token of your wedding day, so if you’re taking guests I would recommend only taking one or two trusted loved ones with you to your fitting. This way, you won’t be cluttered down with too many opinions, and you can trust that you’ll make the best decision for your inner bride!
- Enjoy the Journey:
In the end, my consultant helped me find a dress that accentuated my figure and made me feel like the best version of myself. I ended up picking a Viola Chan dress that she had chosen for me, and I’ll be forever grateful for her expertise and advice. She knew that it was all about finding a gown that reflected my personality and made me feel confident and comfortable in my own skin… and that’s exactly how I felt when I said my vows.
For me, my wedding dress fitting at Bride&co gave me the opportunity to explore different styles, get expert advice, and ultimately find a gown that really made me see myself as a bride, especially after we added those special finishing touches. I absolutely adored my consultant, and the whole bridal experience was nothing less of a fairytale! My husband and his groomsmen decided to go and get themselves kitted out at Eurosuit, and they looked almost as good as me on the big day!
