When it comes to bridal fashion, the classic white gown reigns supreme—but some brides crave something a little different, something bold, unexpected, and utterly breathtaking. That’s where our latest creation comes in. Designed by Patrick Ferguson Designs for the Love on the Lawn expo, this black wedding dress challenges convention and celebrates the bride who dares to be different.
This gown was crafted with effortless luxury in mind, using nude Armani satin as its foundation and draping it with black silk-look chiffon. The result is a stunning “nude dress” effect, with the black chiffon floating elegantly over the satin, elongating the body and creating a striking hourglass silhouette. Every detail, from the simple yet eye-catching back to the subtle crystal embellishments, keeps the look interesting without being overwhelming. And for a final touch of drama, the dress features a two-meter chiffon train that ensures the bride moves with grace and grandeur.
A black wedding dress is all about making a statement, and we’ve taken that concept to the next level with a veil as daring as the dress itself. Collaborating with Veil Atelier, she designed a horsehair bandeau veil adorned with black and champagne crystals. This avant-garde veil, shaped like a giant untied bow, gives a modern twist to the traditional birdcage veil. Covering just the eyes, it adds an air of mystery while avoiding the fuss of full veils. It floats effortlessly over the face and is secured firmly with combs, ensuring it stays perfectly in place throughout the ceremony.
This dress was more than just a garment—it was a statement of confidence and individuality. And in the setting of Love on the Lawn, surrounded by KZN’s finest, the dress truly shone. The stunning backdrop of the chapel, decorated by the talented teams at @thefloralteam and @muirheadshiring, provided the perfect canvas for this dramatic look. The ceiling installation alone was a showstopper, but paired with this black gown, it was nothing short of magical.
