Bridges have always carried powerful meaning in stories, folklore, and even wedding traditions. They symbolize transition — leaving one phase of life and stepping into another. In many cultures, a bridge represents the crossing into a new journey together as a couple, hand in hand, stronger than ever.

That symbolism inspired our Lovers Bridge obstacle, one of the most romantic features of our wedding putt-putt course. Just as couples in Paris attach padlocks to bridges to “lock their love,” we invite newlyweds to lock their love with a padlock, sealing their forever promise before putting through to the next adventure. After the golf ball has made its way across the bridge, the newlyweds ring a bell — a cheerful little celebration of love, unity, and new beginnings. The guests are invited to do the same.

The Lovers Bridge is more than an obstacle; it’s a moment of connection. When we designed this obstacle, we wanted it to echo the heart of marriage. A bridge is strong, dependable, and built to last, just like the foundation of love and a marriage. It also connects two sides into one whole, much like a wedding unites two lives into a shared journey.

We’ve seen bridesmaids giggle as they test their aim, groomsmen cheer as the bell rings, and guests pause to read the names of those that have said “I do”.  For couples, it’s a playful yet meaningful way to symbolize the promises they’ve made that day.

The Lovers Bridge is a reminder that love is about crossing together into life’s next adventure, one joyful step — or one perfect putt — at a time.
