Smooth, soft skin can make you feel extra confident on your wedding day – but the timing of your waxing is everything. Done right, you’ll avoid irritation, bumps and last-minute redness, and enjoy silky skin for your honeymoon too.

Here’s your simple pre-wedding waxing guide for brides.

When Should a Bride Start Waxing?

If you’re new to waxing, start 3–4 months before your wedding.
This gives your skin time to get used to it and allows your hair growth to sync into a smoother cycle.

If you already wax regularly, stick to your normal schedule, but plan your final appointments around your wedding date.

As a guideline:

  • Brows & face: 3–5 days before
  • Underarms & bikini: 3–5 days before
  • Legs & body: 3–7 days before

This gives any redness or sensitivity time to calm down, while still keeping everything smooth for the big day.

How to Prep for Your Wax

Good prep makes a big difference:

  • Exfoliate gently 1–2 days before to help prevent ingrown hairs.
  • Keep skin hydrated with a light, non-greasy moisturiser.
  • Avoid tanning, sunburn and very hot showers before your appointment.
  • Make sure hair is long enough – about a grain of rice in length.

Aftercare: Keeping Skin Calm and Smooth

After waxing:

  • Avoid hot baths, saunas, tight clothing and exercise for 24 hours.
  • Skip fragranced lotions and harsh products on waxed areas.
  • Use soothing products (like aloe or a recommended post-wax lotion).
  • Continue gentle exfoliation a few times a week to reduce ingrown hairs.

If you’re planning a spray tan, it should always be done after waxing, never before.

Pre-wedding waxing isn’t just about the wedding day – it’s about feeling confident, smooth and carefree on your honeymoon too.
