Planning a wedding is no easy feat. You are inundated with choices, opinions, and possibly the most irritating phrase you have ever heard in your life: “You know what you should do….” Repressing the urge to reply, “Uninvite you from the wedding!” will take more out of you than trying to file your taxes.
This is why I would like to make a suggestion that I hope will simplify your day. While having a massive cake looks impressive, the process of having it prepared to serve to guests can be a hassle. Either staff at the venue need to whisk it away to the kitchen to be cut or you need to arrange for some friends or family members to serve it to your guests.
Cupcakes come pre-portioned. This means that you don’t have to worry about the process of cutting and distributing the cake. They also come with a handy dandy wrapper, which means you do not need plates and cutlery for them to be enjoyed.
Cupcake towers look amazing! Many couples go for a small cake to cut and cupcakes to serve. By having a selection of cupcakes decorated in various ways you can create a fabulous focal point on your day. Put a few fresh flowers in between to complete the look.
Box them. There are now a plethora of cupcake boxes available! From simple black and white, to printed patterns, and even see-through! By boxing the cupcakes you make transporting them simpler. If your guests ate too much at the buffet to have dessert, it is easy for them to take their cupcake home.
Make them a wedding favour. By adding a “Thank You” tag or sticker, you turn your cupcakes into both a dessert and a wedding favour. This removes the frustration of having to arrange another element and having that additional expense.
A wedding can be a scary beast to tame but the process is the same as tackling a tower of cupcakes: one bite at a time.
