We are all aware that various industries have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; however, there is always a silver lining in all situations. During the pandemic, the wedding industry specifically, has been silenced and kept in the background. Uncertainty of weddings and when it will be allowed again has been at the forefront of all vendors’ mind.
There are three bright silver linings we discovered during the Covid-19 pandemic such as; the rediscovery of humanity and teamwork, pride in your work and true passion, and trust and communication. Business operations in all industries had to be altered to adjust to the new market demands and needs due to Covid-19. Here are our silver linings.
Silver lining #1 – Rediscovery of humanity and teamwork:
A significant new business venture we started during lockdown is the Bridal Bargain Spree, a collaboration with Dynamic Auctioneers. The online auction aims to allow all types of vendors to attract brides-to-be and generate business for the upcoming wedding season. The Bridal Bargain Spree is beneficial everyone who partakes, as this allows wedding vendors to get leads and brides can bid or buy wedding services for an affordable price. This collaboration endorsed teamwork and different people joining forces to develop an exceptional outcome.
Want to join us for the next Bridal Bargain Spree as a bride? Keep this weekend open! The next auction is 31 July 2020 to 2 August 2020. Click here to register now and watch this video for all the necessary information.
Silver lining #2 – Pride in your work and true passion:
A challenge during lockdown was staying positive and thinking about new ways to generate creative ideas. We had to make adjustments to all of our scheduled deadlines, update our tech skills with Zoom meetings, and learn to trust each other, as we were all working remotely. Nevertheless, we created a beautiful magazine, Wedding Guide 2021, which is filled with passion and hard work. We took over 12 styled shoots, with a variety of vendors, that can be used as inspiration for brides-to-be, introduced new design concepts, and gathered beautiful content from our advertisers. During Covid-19, the pride and passion for our work blew up. We are sincerely grateful for this.
Wedding Guide 2021 will be available early August – keep a lookout!
Silver lining #3 – Trust and communication:
The toll Covid-19 has on all wedding vendors and the uncertainty of the industry lead to a remarkable movement. The Association of Wedding Professionals of South Africa (AWPSA) started a campaign, Fight for Weddings. Bruidsgids & Wedding Guide combined forces and entered into a collaboration to help re-open the wedding industry. The need for communication and trusting others is essential in this fight.
