It was the perfect summer’s day wedding; a bit cloudy, but no rain. Our wedding theme was travel, because our entire relationship was long distance from day one! It really was a family effort. My mom did the paper flowers for the tables, and I also used them to make my bridesmaids bouquets and groomsmen’s boutonnieres. Instead of flowers down the aisle we had paper planes, and on our tables were town names where my husband and I have traveled together (a lot of them were for weddings!). My mother-in-law made my wedding dress, the flower girl dresses, did all the tailoring of my husband’s clothes as well as the wedding cake. The DJ and photographer were both family (how lucky to have such talent in the family). My cousin sang and played acoustic guitar and ukulele during cocktail-hour which was so much fun (he taught a few people the lyrics to Despacito!).
